Mary lives alone at Hillcrest Retirement Homes in La Verne. Her closest friend is David Hone. She considers David to be her adoptive grandchild and shares weekly dinners with him. The Grow Native Nursery, located at Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden, has sold native species to the public for more than 30 years. The nursery opens on the first Saturday each November, attracting people from a wide area to purchase native plants.
